The Chapare

Chapare is strategically positioned in Bolivia becoming the gateway to the Amazon linking the departments of Santa Cruz, Cochabamba, La Paz and Beni by land and river, located to northwest of the Department of Cochabamba and only 3 hours from its capital.

The Tropic of Cochabamba is one of the most biodiverse regions in South America and has the most important ecological reserves in the world.

Among the exotic flora and fauna of rare varieties of orchids are unique in the world, beautiful ferns and huge trees that fill the region and are home to beautiful birds of vivid colors and fascinating singing, and among these amazing bird species a unique variety of blind bird, the ‘Guacharo’. The tropical forests of the jungle in the Chapare are displayed to tourists with its splendor, where we see huge lizards, snakes, jaguars and variety of monkeys, which may often be seen jumping through the trees and come close to the tourists visiting their natural habitat, macaws and toucans stand out with their beautiful contrasting colors and seductive butterflies flutter gently in the air.
